The German power metallers, BLIND GUARDIAN, will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their album “Somewhere Far Beyond” by performing the entire LP on tour in Germany and Switzerland in the fall of 2021.
Their fourth album BLIND GUARDIAN connects the unbridled speed metal sound of the early years with folk elements and the subject matter from Middle-Earth. It gives a clear idea of the orchestral storm that was soon to follow. It is a milestone album for the genre and is now counted among the classics.

In other news BLIND GUARDIAN played a brand new song, "Violent Shadows", last month at the Wacken World Wide digital festival.
Last February, BLIND GUARDIAN frontman Hansi Kürsch told Canada's The Metal Voice about the musical direction of the band's next album:
“It's another amazing ride. It's more progressive than people would probably expect, but it's a typical sound BLIND GUARDIAN. When we last spoke [a few months ago] I didn't even know it yet because I was of the opinion that it still needed a lot of orchestration," he explained.
“But after working on it for the last two months, I realized that it's a lot less work than I expected. However, as I mentioned, it goes more in a progressive direction. So is. There are about three [or] four true speed/thrash metal songs. The rest tend more towards the complicated side of the music, so they make an introduction to people who have never heard anything like it before. However, with less orchestration.”
Their next LP BLIND GUARDIAN expected in early 2021.
