Myths and Elves: An Evening of Fantasy at the Throne of Lycabettus!
Blind Guardian – Greek audience. This relationship is indescribable. A unique and deeply emotional relationship, full of mutual love and admiration. From their first appearance in our country in the mid-90s until today the audience is constantly growing, new generations are added, the old ones never leave and together they sing every word, every note, creating a significant cultural event that you have to experience to understand. And of course, the Guardians themselves do not miss the opportunity to express their gratitude for the love of the Greeks, describing them as among their warmest and most passionate fans worldwide.
The magic returns, this time to the most ideal venue, at the Throne of Athens, the Lycabettus Theater, on June 26, 2025, and what is expected is the best, the most complete, the most epic appearance of the Germans in our country.
It is also a unique phenomenon that the band's concerts are based solely on their interaction with the audience. No visual effects, no scenery, no fires, elaborate lights and screens. No attempt at forced impressions. Their music and lyrics are enough to turn their concerts into a life experience.
The Blind Guardian are undoubtedly one of the most important representatives of power metal. With a unique character and personal sound, they have created their own space in the metal scene, and their ability to combine elaborate orchestrations, epic narratives and emotional honesty has established them as living legends.
The band was founded in 1984 in Krefeld, Germany by Hansi Kürsch (vocals, bass initially) and André Olbrich (guitar), who remain the mainstays of the band. Starting out as Lucifer's Heritage, Blind Guardian initially moved in a speed metal style, with obvious influences from bands such as Helloween and Iron Maiden. In 1988, influenced by Fates Warning's album "Awaken the Guardian", they changed their name to Blind Guardian and released their debut album "Battalions of Fear", which went relatively unnoticed. This was followed by "Follow the Blind" (1989), which featured Helloween's Kai Hansen, and with songs such as the now legendary "Valhalla", the band was put on the map. With "Tales from the Twilight World" (1990), they presented their epic narrative style even more intensely, while still retaining many speed metal elements, and we arrive at "Somewhere Far Beyond" (1992), the album with the iconic "The Bard's Song (In the Forest)" being the highlight of every concert since then.
Blind Guardian – Valhalla (Remastered 2017)
The two albums that follow are the masterpieces that establish Guardian as one of the great forces of the field. They are “Imaginations from the Other Side” (1995) and “Nightfall in Middle-Earth” (1998). The first is a masterpiece of power metal, with songs like “Bright Eyes” and “Mordred's Song” and the second, their most famous album, based on Tolkien's “Silmarillion”. With “A Night at the Opera” (2002) they explore more complex structures, “A Twist in the Myth” (2006) is distinguished by its more modern approach and in “At the Edge of Time” (2010) they attempt a return to their roots. With their two latest albums, “Beyond the Red Mirror” (2015) and “The God Machine” (2022) they continue the tradition of narrative power metal with their undiminished creative energy.
On June 26, at the Lycabettus Theater, we await them once again, to renew our vows of love and to live once again the transcendent experience of their concerts. You know you can't miss it.
BEAST IN BLACK
The Future is Now
The Beast in Black is a Finnish heavy/power metal band formed in 2015 by guitarist and composer Anton Kabanen, formerly of Battle Beast. The band's name is inspired by the Japanese manga "Berserk", which is also the main theme for many of the band's lyrics and aesthetic.
In 2017, Beast in Black released their first album, “Berserker”, which was a great success in the metal community thanks to its combination of epic riffs, dynamic melodies and electronic elements, while the vocals of Greek singer Yannis Papadopoulos (formerly Wardrum) stand out for their impressive range and theatricality.
BEAST IN BLACK – Berserker (OFFICIAL FULL ALBUM STREAM)
The success continued with the album “From Hell with Love” (2019) and “Dark Connection” (2021), which strengthened their presence in the international metal scenes. Beast in Black combine elements of heavy metal, power metal, synthwave and eurobeat, creating a unique, retro-futuristic sound.
With impressive live performances and ever-growing fame, Beast in Black have established themselves as one of the most distinctive acts in the modern metal scene.
Beast in Black are not just another typical power metal band. Their music has a futuristic yet nostalgic feel, making the concert feel like a time travel, while songs like “Blind and Frozen”, “Born Again” and “Sweet True Lies” have choral choruses that get the crowd going, while their rhythm and melodies are “catchy”, creating a party atmosphere.
Finally, we must mention the great voice of Yannis Papadopoulos, who is considered one of the best contemporary metal singers, with an impressive vocal range, ranging from deep, dynamic growls to towering falsetto. You have to hear him to believe him.
If Blind Guardian is a historic band, and rightly considered one of the founders of power metal, Beast In Black are the worthy successors of a huge school and on June 26th the present, past and future of power will meet on the Lycabettus stage in a night made to become a legend...
Music is our business, but we do it for fun
