The French death-grinders PUTRID OFFAL have released their new single titled Sanguis in Oris which is the first from their upcoming third album Obliterated Life which is released on April 11th via Time To Kill Records. The The album will be released on vinyl, CD, cassette and on all digital platforms.
They themselves say about the single:
Five years after their last album, Sicknesses obsession, the PUTRID OFFAL they return with Obliterated life. Sanguis in oris is the first single from this new project in a different direction from the previous album. Raw and groovy, Sanguis in oris sets the tone for this new album. Stay Putrid.
While they comment on the album:
The battle continues. The smell of death and gunpowder is everywhere. Soldiers and horses are killed by the dozens. Blood and entrails flood the battlefield. It's all about blood, sweat, fear, and the taking of life or having yours taken by the enemy, but one thing can make the difference: How far would someone go to save the fallen?
Following the origins of pathology with Vesalius' history with 2020's Sicknesses Obsessions, Putrid Offal's second full-length work in 30 years, Obliterated Life, explores the life of Dominique-Jean Larrey (1766-1842), who invented the ambulance and practiced war medicine by amputation of soldiers right behind the front lines. opening chests, removing bullets from the entrails and sewing up intestines amidst the putrid smell of ongoing sepsis, and that's exactly what our band of gore brothers offers musically with this new effort!
Violence? For sure; But then again, there's much more to feast your eyes on with these sick pathologists: stellar musicianship, relentless grooves, face-melting explosions with furious blasts, gurgling growls and paranoid screams, served up like a splatter platter with abundant and massive production and mastering.
Obliterated Life is certainly the band's ultimate masterpiece of rotten flesh, offering not only an absolute grinding brutality but also fragmented by cervical grooves and strange time signatures. A curve of scholarly pathology!
Wouldn't you think you became a God if you decided who would die and who would live to die on the battlefield? That's how sick Dominique-Jean Larrey became. That's how perverted Obliterated Life is. You're definitely not ready for this, but who cares?
